In the bluebells
The end of April and beginning of May are wonderful months for outdoor family photography sessions, not least because the bluebells are out in bloom. We are so lucky in Northamptonshire, and have some beautiful bluebell woods at our disposal. You need to be quick to snap up one of these limited sessions as the bluebells don't hang around for long! Weekday evening sessions are fantastic for the lovely warm sunlight, and will be available for older children or those that won't be too grouchy if they're kept out a little late, and I will be able to offer two weekends dates 27/28 April and 4/5 May.
Your clothing choice is very important for these sessions as the woods are often quite dark, so light, pastel colours work really well. Creams, greys and light pinks are perfect. A pop of yellow/mustard in your accessories can also compliment the bluebells. The bluebells make the perfect backdrop so as with all sessions I advise you avoid clothes with cartoons/big logos, stripes and too much of a pattern. All these things detract from your children's faces in the final photographs. If in doubt, just keep it simple. You can always send me a quick phone snap of your clothing choices laid out so I can advise you if you are unsure.
In addition to your own clothes I have a selection of beautiful tulle dresses for little girls aged between about 3 and 10 depending on sizes which you are welcome to borrow for the session. Please let me know at the time of booking.
Images from your session will make the perfect family portrait to hang on the wall. I offer the most amazing quality Pro Canvas and Acrylic pieces, that are handmade in Italy and can be designed to suit your interior design. All wall art ordered comes with the matching digital image with my compliments so you can share with your friends and family online.
Online shopping has been a saviour this year, and the likes of Amazon have made it so easy for us. But while the rich have been getting richer, the smaller, independent shops have been struggling. Forced to close their doors for so long and totally change and adapt...
A photograph is really only a photograph when it's printed, until then it's just a digital image or file; pixels on a screen that rarely get viewed. Our children today are growing up as the most photographed generation, but won't have anything printed to show for it....
I enjoyed lockdown but I'm very happy to be back at work! The first session back in Northamptonshire was at a stunning family farm. I loved all the textures and natural backdrops... a photographer's dream! Your own family photography experience can take take place...
I'm based in both Northampton and photograph in all areas of Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire . I come to you so you don't have to venture too far from home.
